AN INTRODUCTION TO LDSF
.

LDSF gathers and voices the interests, concerns and problems of older people to the local district authorities and organisations. Through ESSA (see next column) LDSF has access to the County Council, which supports it.

 

LDSF is non-political, non-sectarian, non-racial and non-profit making.

 

LDSF is an independent, voluntary community group which represents the views of its members.

 

LDSF was formed in January 2006 with a membership of 52. This has grown to 360 members (31 March 2010).

 

LDSF liaises with and assists other groups.

 

LDSF publishes a newsletter, which all members receive free.

 

LDSF holds general meetings on topics of interest to older people.

 

LDSF holds coffee mornings in Lewes and District villages.

 

All LDSF committee members are volunteers.

LDSF is a member of

ESSA liaises with the County Council and County-wide organisations on behalf of all older people in the county.  LDSF has two members on the ESSA Management Committee. The countywide membership of seniors’ forums is over 3,000 (2009).
